Step
back in time here at The White Horse Oxford. A grade two listed building
situated in the heart of the city on Broad Street, opposite the famous
Sheldonian Theatre. A historic building famous for the filming of Inspector
Morse in the 1980's and more recently with Lewis and Inspector Hathaway.
Filming
has also taken place with Elijah Wood and John Hurt in the film The Oxford
Murders in 2008
History
tells of a fire that broke out in the kitchen of The White Horse where
extensive damange was done. The kitchen had to undergo some major refurbishment.
It was at this time that a 'witches broom' was found behind the rafters.
No one would touch it for fear of superstitioin, so it was merely left
there and boarded up and it remains there to this day!
